授之以渔(shòu zhī yǐ yú): originally from the full phase “授之以鱼不如授之以渔”,translated as instead of giving some fish, it’s better to teach them how to fish.

In English, there’s a similar saying “give a man a fish, you feed him a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime”.

*** Education brings future! ***

I’m sure if it’s possible to feed someone for a lifetime. But knowledge and skills can definitely give someone more choices: more opportunities to discover, more chances to be happy and possibilities to be satisfied.

“Education” is not limited to class in school, it could a training, could be a fun coaching experience… the goal of “education” doesn’t have to be surviving neither; it could be simply “better or more”.

Do you know?

In 2015,together with another 8 entrepreneurs and scholars, Jack Ma founded the Hu Pan University (www.hupan.com), a non-profit education institutes. Its vision is discovering and training the entrepreneurs with entrepreneurship. In certain ways, it’s even more powerful than invest or partner with those entrepreneurs. As Jack Ma said, “I’m here to share my failed experiences”. The know-hows, the paths they’ve been, the lessons they learned are treasures.

Question to the leaders: what’s your incentive strategy?
