I can’t tell you the answer. You have to give it a try, even a second try…

I love cooking, got the talent and it’s proven by friends even strangers:)Last summer, I decided to explore a cooking-ish career. Partnership, financial planning, community, marketing…food popups, kitchen take-over, workshop, team building events… It was financially successful since the first event, but I also saw the long-term limitation. So I called off the little adventure, although I’m glad I gave it a try! Here is what i learned:

- Hobby, dream, job and career are different, but definitely connected. You have to explore and try out yours. You never know until you try!

- Everything you learned or experienced is not a waste; and will contribute to your work or life someday, somewhere.

- The best part is I always integrated some cultural and human factors: we tell the stories with foods. I believe there’s no border between foods, instead, we find and build connection by cooking and sharing foods. That’s something I definitely want to include in my future career. Food diversity is an easy start for culture diversity, where we can start building community and organizational diversity!

- Last but the most important one, I always knew I have a loving and supporting husband; and yes, he’s by my side all the time, my Front of House, my photographer, my guitarist and my sous chef.

Always put career before job, but never forget to live your life.

Hobby is an important part of life.

To do something you love gives you motivation and courage to continue it as a career. But to do something as career need more than love.

Do you have a dream job now? Is it related to your hobby?
